One month to go, and the countdown is gaining momentum! The Naro Moru Cycling Festival (NMCF) is back for its 4th edition, and we are excited to team up with our host, Naro Moru River Lodge, for the final event of the 2026 Mt. Kenya MTB Series calendar. 

As the grand finale, NMCF promises three action-packed days featuring five exciting events, bringing together cyclists, youth and the local community for an unforgettable celebration of Road and MTB cycling. From challenging trails to fast-paced road action, the festival is set to bring the 2026 season to a thrilling finish in true Naro Moru style! 

What to Expect at NMCF 2026

Naro Moru Community MTB XCC - Friday 2nd October

• The festival begins on Friday, 2nd October, with the Naro Moru Community Cross Country event, bringing together riders from the Naro Moru community and schools from Nyeri, Nanyuki and Naro Moru. 
• On-site registration will open from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM in Naro Moru town, with the exact registration venue TBC. 
• A rider briefing will follow at 2:30 PM. 
• The School/Youth and Junior race will begin at 3:00 PM, featuring two age groups: 13–16 years and 17–18 years. Each participating school or youth group should field a team of 4–10 riders. 
• The Adults Category, 18 years and above, is scheduled to start at 4:30 PM. 
• All participants must come with their own bicycles and wear suitable cycling attire. Helmets are mandatory for all riders. 

Naro Moru Team Time Trial - TTT (approx. 37 km) - Saturday 3rd October

• On-site registration will open from 6:30 AM in Naro Moru Town, with the exact registration venue TBC. 
• Rider briefing will take place at 7:15 AM and the event will start at 7:30 AM. 

Naro Moru Individual Road Race - RR (approx. 100 km) - Saturday 3rd October

• On-site registration will open from 12:30 PM in Naro Moru Town, with the exact registration venue TBC.
•  Rider breifing will take place at 1:30 PM and the event will start at 2:00 PM.

Naro Moru Trail Trial: Kids Race - Sunday 4th October

• On-site registration will be open from 7:00 AM at Naro Moru River Lodge. 
• Rider briefing will take place at 7:45 AM and the event starts at 8:00 AM. 
• Kids categories: 7/8 yrs, 9/10 yrs, 11/12 yrs, 13/14 yrs, 15/16 yrs. 
• The kids’ race will remain within the secure grounds of Naro Moru River Lodge.

Naro Moru MTB XC Marathon (approx.60km) - Sunday 4th October

• On-site registration will be open from 9:00 AM at Naro Moru River Lodge. 
• Mandatory rider briefing will be held at 10:45 AM and event starts at 11:00 AM. 
• Categories: Juniors 17-18 yrs | Elite 19-39 yrs | Vets 40-49 yrs | Masters 50 yrs & Above | Mixed 18 yrs & Above.

Event Charges:

There will be several different packages available for entry into the event: 

Friday 2nd October: Entry is Free 

Single event entry - Adult: 2,000/- ppn 

Two event entry - Adult: 3,500 ppn 

Three event entry - Adult 5,500/- ppm 

Kids entry: 1,500/-

Take Note: To ensure the safety and well-being of the riders on the course, entry into the Naro Moru MTB XC Marathon is in teams of two. Individual riders can be partnered on site on the day. However, this requirement does not apply to the Friday Community Race or the Individual Road Race (RR) on Saturday afternoon. 

A prize giving ceremony will be held on 4th October at the end of the day’s events at 3:00 PM at Naro Moru River Lodge.
